About Home Energy Prose

Frankly, I’ve always liked houses – tree houses, leaf houses, snow houses, houses made of wood.  When I got bigger, I got more serious and bought a big old house and started tearing the insides apart and rebuilding it.  Spurred forward by energy concerns for heating an oversized old house, I learned everything I could about energy alternatives and building efficiency.

This blog reflects those experiences and passes along some of my thoughts from the classes that I teach and the lessons I have learned.  There may be a slight emphasis on ventilation or air motion issues because I have spent much of my career working with fans (resulting in my book the Residential Ventilation Handbook published by McGraw-Hill) including my membership in the ASHRAE 62.2 Residential Ventilation Standard committee.

If you have questions about any of this stuff, please feel free to contact me.
